About the Artist - 35+ Years of Art

I became addicted to art at the age of 16 when I first smelt oil paints.. since then I've had an incredible journey going through art college, launching my art business, exhibiting, commissions, meeting great people in the art community, and more...

Colour Your Life

Based in Adelaide South Australia, I've been creating a huge range of diverse artwork over the last 35+ years.
After discovering my love for painting at school, I studied at the North Adelaide School of Art in the early 90's, completing my studies with a Diploma in Fine Art majoring in painting.
Since then, in between working and family life, I've created an extensive range of artwork varying from semi-realistic scenes of Sydney Harbour to large abstracts with deep colours, textures and designs.
I enjoy the challenge of trying new media and design on all types of surfaces. I draw my ideas from everything I see, whether it's the texture of a brick wall on an old farmhouse, the shimmering colours of oil on water, or the way light and shadow play on objects.
Over the last few years I've has been experimenting with liquid mediums where the artist is forced to release some control over the outcome of the artwork created, as the beautiful vibrant inks move and blend as they settle and dry. The finished products have a marbled and rippling effect, drawing the eye across the surface on a strange and wonderful journey of colour and shape. A clear gloss resin finish intensifies the depth of the colours and textures.
More recently I've been experimenting with home decor artwork and surfaces made by hand, which has expanded the ways I've been able to play with mediums and the range I can offer - different shapes and sizes, table tops, chopping boards, mini art, mirrors and much more...
I also love using my artwork to create interesting and unique designs through graphic software.
I love painting for the sheer joy of it, but also love sharing my artwork with family, friends and other art lovers - I'm passionate about my artwork and making sure those who collect my artwork love it as much as I do!
Over the years I've exhibited and sold my artwork through local group and solo exhibitions, private sales and commissions.
In 2017 I launched an online art business - The Art Network - created to help promote artists and foster collaboration in the art community. The business is currently on hold, to be reinstated at a future date.
